Williams is the fifth to plead guilty in this case. Co-defendant Sheldon Tyrone Christopher Williams Jr. also pleaded guilty to the firearms conspiracy; Co-defendants Brian Lee Thomas, Whitney D’ron Clark and Kenyante Hampton had previously pleaded guilty to the drug conspiracy, the statement said.

The conspirators hid the firearms in backpacks, duffel bags and suitcases, and transported them on cars and buses – with cash and fake names to buy bus tickets – to be delivered to individuals in California, according to the indictment.

In return for each pistol shipped to California, the defendants received 1 to 2 pounds of marijuana mailed through the U.S. Postal Service. The Tulsa postal worker and co-defendant Whitney D’ron Clark picked up the packages and delivered them to other conspirators for sale, the statement said.

Her prosecution was part of Operation Squeezed Out of the Organized Crime Task Force. The OCDETF identifies, disrupts and dismantles high-level criminal organizations threatening the country using a prosecutor-led, intelligence and inter-agency approach.

The Tulsa Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation. US Assistant Attorney Joel-lyn McCormick, who serves as the senior counsel for OCDETF, is pursuing the case.
