Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe gave a glowing response to the reported FBI raids carried out on guerrilla news agency staff over President Biden’s daughter’s missing diary.
The New York Times published the story Friday that Biden’s DOJ searched two locations in New York looking for a “stolen” diary that belonged to Ashley Biden and went missing just days before the 2020 presidential election.

The investigation is being carried out by the FBI and the federal prosecutor’s office in Manhattan.
“In the past few weeks, federal investigators have contacted at least one person who worked for Project Veritas to question that person about the diary,” said one of the people briefed on the case, the Times reported.

Confirming the Times coverage, O’Keefe released a video message discussing his group’s obvious links to the diary and declaring that “Project Veritas has been under attack”.
“I woke up to the news that the homes and houses of Project Veritas journalists or ex-journalists were raided by FBI agents,” O’Keefe began. “It seems that the southern borough of New York is now targeting journalists for the alleged crime of doing their jobs lawfully and honestly, or at least these journalists.”
O’Keefe alleged that the Times asked a Project Veritas reporter for comment “within an hour” of the FBI’s raid on the house.

“We don’t know how the New York Times knew about the execution of a warrant in our reporter’s house or the subject matter of the warrant because the grand jury’s investigation is under wraps,” said O’Keefe. “The FBI has taken material from current, former Project Veritas journalists, even though our legal team previously contacted the Department of Justice and voluntarily submitted unassailable facts demonstrating Project Veritas’ lack of involvement in criminal activity or intent.”
“Our efforts were the stuff of responsible ethical journalism, and we have no doubt that Project Veritas did the right thing every step of the way,” said O’Keefe.
Project Veritas founder then stated that “Tipsters” approached his group late last year claiming that Ashley Biden’s diary contained “explosive allegations” about her father, then the Democratic candidate, and that the diary was allegedly abandoned in a room, that she stayed in and that she stayed after.
The “tipsters” O’Keefe said he had never met before apparently negotiated with the media to sell Biden’s diary, and eventually Project Veritas did not publish the book’s contents because his group could not independently verify its authenticity .

“Project Veritas took the diary to law enforcement to ensure it could be returned to its rightful owner. We never made it public,” said O’Keefe. “Now the Justice Department of Ms. Biden’s father, particularly the District Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, appears to be investigating the situation, claiming the diary was stolen examined?
O’Keefe went on to claim that the investigation “smells like politics” but that Project Veritas “will not give in”.

Fox News ‘legal analyst Gregg Jarrett appeared on “Hannity” Friday, insisting that there is a “big difference” between what Ashley Biden’s attorney said her diary was stolen from and what O’ Keefe claimed that it was one crime left in one room and the other wasn’t. “
“Project Veritas did the right thing,” said Jarrett Sean Hannity of Fox News. “They didn’t publish this because they couldn’t verify the authenticity of the documents, but the other conservative website published it, but they claimed they checked it out.”

Jarrett insisted that even if the diary were the subject of theft, it was a “state crime” rather than a federal crime, and that the investigation that allegedly began under Attorney General William Barr had become a “huge conflict of interest”. with President Biden now in office.
“A journalist cannot be prosecuted for posting stolen material unless the journalist himself is involved in the theft. There is no evidence of it,” Garrett said. “And the same goes for leaked classified information. Journalists have never been prosecuted for this, although the Lecker did so when they were identified. So we don’t know much about this story, but it is deeply disturbing to the homes of two journalists armed with a search warrant signed by a federal judge and the Justice Department chaired by Joe Biden, this smells like a political investigation and possible prosecution. “
