The word “emoji” is a portmanteau, which means that it is made up of two different words
We often use emojis to convey a feeling, and most of those emotions have a specific emoji. In fact, with the increasing number of emojis, we sometimes find it difficult to find the right one. However, emojis have become an important part of our written communication. They are the result of the recent development of human language as most people communicate through electronic devices and social media platforms today. These emojis try to fill a void when communication is virtual. To celebrate these humble characters, the world celebrates Emoji Day on July 17th.
The word “emoji” is a portmanteau, which means that it consists of two different words, both Japanese: “e” for image and “moji” for the character.
importance
One way to understand their widespread use is that there is a verified Twitter handle for World Emoji Day. It shared a video from Dr. Christina Sevdali, a senior lecturer in linguistics at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, outlines how these figurines have become part of our daily communication.

history
Since the calendar emoji shows July 17th as the date, it was decided that the day of Jeremy Burge, the founder of Emojipedia, a collection of almost all emojis available today, would be celebrated as World Emoji Day. The first World Emoji Day was celebrated in 2014 and has since become an annual feature.
celebration
As the event grew in popularity over the years, many people and organizations have started tweeting to celebrate the day.
