Clinton man sentenced to 17 1/2 years on child pornography charge | Local News

DAVENPORT – A Clinton man was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in federal prison for child pornography.

Joshua Del Chandler was convicted Monday for receiving and distributing child pornography and was sentenced to seven years supervised release to follow his sentence and paid $ 100 to the Crime Victims Fund and $ 11,000 in compensation. He was convicted by US District Court judge Stephanie M. Rose.

The 38-year-old Chandler was identified as a suspect in April 2020 after his cell phone and laptop were turned over to the FBI, according to federal officials. The officers obtained a warrant to search the devices and found 22 pictures and three videos of child pornography. In February 2021, the FBI issued a search warrant on Chandler’s home. Several electronic devices were seized, with 70 additional pictures and 131 videos of child pornography revealed.

In a statement following Miranda, Chandler admitted knowingly possessing, receiving, and distributing child pornography. On May 14, 2021, Chandler pleaded guilty to the charges.

The acting US attorney Richard D. Westphal announced from the southern district of Iowa. The Federal Criminal Police Office has investigated the case.
