The Kentucky State Police’s Electronic Crime Division (KSP) has announced another local arrest for an investigation into child sexual abuse material.
William Brandon Combs, 27, of Burnside, is on charges of encouraging a minor under the age of 16 for a sexual act – a Class B crime punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison – and on five counts for possession Confronted objects that represent a minor over 12 years of age in a sexual performance. This charge is a Class D crime, punishable by one to five years in prison.
Combs was interviewed and arrested on Tuesday as a result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation into October 2020 incidents. KSP’s electronic crime department began the investigation after discovering that the suspect was communicating and sharing sexually explicit images with teenagers online.
The investigation also resulted in the execution of a search warrant at 134 Tateville Antioch Rd, Burnside. According to authorities, equipment was confiscated and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for investigation. The investigation continues.
Combs was initially held in the Pulaski County Detention Center but was no longer listed among inmates at the time of writing on Wednesday afternoon.
The Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force consists of more than 26 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The role of the ICAC Task Force, established by the US Department of Justice and administered by the Kentucky State Police, is to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in developing a cyber-lure response and investigation into child sexual abuse. This support includes forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance, victim services, prevention and education in the community.
