US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday the United States is discussing a “common approach” with allies and other countries on a “common approach” to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics amid criticism of China and calls to boycott human rights abuses.

“More on this in the coming weeks,” said Blinken at a hearing of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives.

Congressmen have been louder and louder about boycotting the Olympics or relocating them to another city amid what the State Department has labeled the genocide of Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in China.
