Texas prison inmates escape on Fourth of July

Two drug criminals called early Sunday July 4th when they stormed out of a federal prison in Texas.

Inmates Arturo Campos-Zamora and Christopher Salazar were found missing shortly before 2:30 a.m. in a subcamp next to the FCI Three Rivers in Three Rivers, Texas, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Campos-Zamora, 57, is described as a “white male” with black hair, brown eyes, 5’7 and weighing about 152 lbs. Salazar, 27, is called a “white male” with brown hair, brown eyes, just under 6 feet and weighing about 260 pounds.

Both men were convicted and imprisoned in the Western District of Texas for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine: Campos-Zamora for two and a half years; Salazar for two years.

FCI Three Rivers is home to 176 male offenders. The satellite camp from which Campos-Zamora and Salazar fled is a minimum security facility.
