WASHINGTON – Democrats faced new intra-party disagreements over the details of their $ 3.5 trillion health, education and climate bill when Democrats in the House of Representatives began releasing draft pieces of legislation to try to get them out to be completed in the coming weeks.
Democrats hope to finalize the sweeping bill by the end of the month, which aims to significantly expand the country’s social safety net, cut carbon emissions and raise taxes for businesses and high-income households. To do this, lawmakers are trying to preventively resolve the differences between the House Democrats and the Senate over many of its provisions, a task that has so far proven difficult.
