WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 (Reuters) – A federal appeals court on Thursday rejected an emergency offer by China Telecom Corp (0728.HK) to stop an order from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission that is suspending its authority to provide services in the United States withdraws.
A three-judge panel of the U.S. District Columbia Court of Appeals rejected China Telecom’s offer to temporarily block the FCC regulation, which will come into effect in early January, pending a full review of the legal challenge. China Telecom had warned that it would notify US customers of the decision by Saturday.
