NEW YORK, October 9, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – Two attorneys from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP were named Attorney of the Year at Euromoney Legal Media Group’s annual Women in Business Law Awards Americas. Presented virtually on September 29, 2021, the awards recognized the company in two categories.
The following lawyers have been recognized:
Cindy JK Davis, Chairman of the Banking and Financial Services Practice, was named Banking & Finance Lawyer of the Year.
Jillian Kirna, a shareholder of the company’s environmental practice in the Philadelphia was voted environmental lawyer of the year.
The company also won awards for Talent Management – International Firm and US Midwest Firm of the Year. The company was also shortlisted by Euromoney in 14 categories and 11 women were nominated for individual awards.
According to Euromoney, winners will be selected based on their ability to support the development of women in the legal profession and to provide a work and life program that empowers women to pursue legal careers. The criteria include the ratio of female to male lawyers (at all management levels), the loyalty of female employees to the partner level and relevant diversity initiatives. Individual winners will be selected based on their professional performance as well as their advocacy and influence over the past 12 months.
Davis who works in the law firm Atlanta office, focuses on representing national and international banks, finance companies, hedge funds, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers in complex financing transactions. She often represents lead arrangers and agents in structuring and signing syndicated loan transactions. Their typical transactions include U.S. and international asset and cash flow secured and unsecured credit facilities, acquisition finance and other leveraged buyouts, and first and second lien credit facilities. Davis also has experience structuring complex credit transactions, including those with multi-currency facilities and cross-border credit arrangements. Davis’ financial practice ranges from midsize club deals to multi-billion dollar investment-grade syndicated loans. She has represented clients in finance in virtually every industry, including food and agribusiness, retail, healthcare, media / telecom, and games.
Kirn, who is in the Philadelphia Office, focuses her practice on complex environmental and energy disputes, advice on regulatory compliance and the settlement of environmental liabilities identified in the course of transactions. She has extensive experience in representing clients in litigation before regional and federal courts and regularly supports clients in risk management matters in the context of project developments, transactions in the field of renewable energies and the acquisition, sale and financing of contaminated real estate. Kirn regularly advises clients on environmental issues arising from innovative projects and the development and implementation of sustainability, ESG and environmental, health and safety management programs.
