BOSTON – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Sept. December 2021–
Gotspace Data Partners, a Boston-based data technology development company, today announced the exciting addition of former Amazon director Mike Grella as the company’s new chief operating officer. Grella will support Gotspace in the master development of a new digital infrastructure corridor between New York and Boston.
Grella’s leadership and oversight of the company’s regional plan is strategically focused on serving the critical IT needs of 35 million users across nearly 60,000 square miles in seven states using existing national multiple fiber providers. Gotspace has secured at least 1,500 acres of land for its data hubs in Wallingford, Groton, Griswold and Bozrah, Connecticut, providing the best location for interconnectivity for the region’s growth plans for data centers and other technology-intensive infrastructures.
With seven locations that can accommodate more than 25 hyperscale data centers in its pipeline, Grella is confident that the company’s locations will be very attractive to Fortune 500 U.S. and multinational companies for their cloud computing and data storage needs . The region is home to 10% of the country’s population and is the focus of more than 100 large insurance companies, major medical technology and pharmaceuticals, gambling, financial institutions, defense companies, and other technology companies.
In his functions as Legal Director, Director of Public Policy, Director of Infrastructure and Director of Economic Development for Amazon from 2012 to 2019, Grella was responsible for many public-private partnerships and played a key role in expanding Amazon’s e-commerce logistics and Last -Mile delivery network.
