Biden Justice Department says its interests align with conservative Christian schools concerned about religious liberty

“The plaintiffs seek security and justice for themselves and for the countless students of sexual and gender minorities, the oppression of which, promoted by state funds and unchecked by state intervention, continues with harmful consequences for mind, body and soul,” it says in of the March lawsuit filed in Oregon District Court. “The inactivity of the institute leaves students unprotected from the consequences of conversion therapy, displacement, denial of shelter and health care, sexual and physical abuse and harassment, as well as the less visible but no less harmful consequences of institutionalized shame, fear, anxiety and loneliness.”
