Biden hails ‘key milestone’ in fight against Covid as FDA approves Pfizer vaccine – live | US news

To date, more than 570 people have been reported in connection with the Capitol Uprising on Jan. March to the Capitol to stop Congressional certification Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election in November 2020.

Congressman Zoe Lofgren, D-California, welcomed U.S. Capitol Police Sgt. Aquilino Gonell after the House Special Committee hearing earlier this summer about the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, the United States, July 27, 2021. Trump has been charged a second time and accused by the House of Representatives of causing the riot. He was acquitted in the Senate, despite several Republicans voting to convict him.

Ashli Babbitt was shot dead by an unidentified Capitol officer on January 6 when she tried to get into the House of Representatives through a broken window in a door leading from the speaker’s chamber.

The Capitol Police just released their internal findings that the officer acted lawfully and is not facing disciplinary action.

Babbitt, 35, was an Air Force veteran who promoted far-right conspiracy theories on social media, including Trump’s lies that he lost the election only because of widespread fraud in the US.

Local, state and national officials declared the 2020 election the “safest” in US history and many dozen of lawsuits from the Trump campaign to overturn the results in various states all failed, with some judges attending lawyers such as Rudi Giuliani and Sidney Powell, who argued in court and at press conferences that Trump was the winner.

Back in January, Lois Beckett and Vivian Ho reported for the Guardian:

Babbitt’s Twitter account featured a woman who had spent months delving deeply into a conspiracy theory portraying Democratic lawmakers as evil pedophiles, and then being persuaded and enraged by Trump and his allies about election fraud.

Before joining the Washington mob, Babbitt had for weeks retweeted false claims by Trump himself, as well as pro-Trump lawyers Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, alleging massive election fraud and claiming Trump won the 2020 election.

Many of Babbitt’s tweets also tagged her as a supporter of QAnon, a conspiracy theory that claims Donald Trump was trying to save the world from a cabal of satanic pedophiles, including Democratic politicians like Biden and Hollywood stars, and that he was his enemies, according to extremism experts will soon be held accountable.
